Due to the recent events and precautionary efforts regarding COVID19, the ARO Office is prepared to meet your needs.  We have services available through email: hawccar@hawaii.edu or via phone: 808-934-2710 (M-F during regular business hours).  If you would like to schedule a video meeting via Zoom, please contact our office.

Spring 2020

  • March 23, 2020 - Delivering the great majority of courses via various types of distance education (Check with your instructor via email)
  • *April 30, 2020 - Last day to Withdraw form semester-length classes with a W
  • May 7, 2020 - Last day of Instruction
  • May 8, 2020 - Final Exams for classes that met on Fridays only throughout the semsster
  • May 11-14 - Final Examinations
  • May 15, 2020 - Last day to order diploma/certificate from ARO
  • May 15, 2020 (Postponed-Rescheduled for Fall 2020) - Hawaii Community College Commencement (HILO)
  • May 16, 2020 (Postponed until further notice) - Hawaii Community Collge - (PĀLAMANUI)

Summer 2020

  • January 15, 2020 - Summer applications open
  • May 26, 2020 - First day of Summer Session
  • April 6, 2020 - Registration open for Summer 2020 (The specific date you may begin to register is assigned based on your student standing).
  • June 30, 2020 - Summer applications close

Fall 2020

  • April 6, 2020 - Registration open for Fall 2020 (The specific date you may begin to register is assigned based on your student standing).
  • August 1, 2020 - Medical clearances due
  • August 24, 2020 - First day of instruction for Fall 2020

The Admissions & Records Office provides services related to admissions, registration into credit courses, and records-related information, including but not limited to the following:

  • Veterans benefits

ARO is located on the Hawai'i Community College Hilo campus in Bldg. 378.
