Hawaiʻi CC Campus Closure – Monday, August 17, 2026

Aloha Hawaiʻi CC ʻOhana,

Aloha UH Hilo and Hawaiʻi Community College Faculty, Staff, and Students:

Hawaiʻi Community College (Manono, Palamanui, and Ko) will be closed Monday, August 17, 2026, following Governor Josh Green’s order closing state and county offices and public schools due to Tropical Storm Lala.

Please note the following:

  • All College buildings and offices will be closed.
  • All events, activities, programs, and scheduled gatherings are canceled.
  • Only employees needed for essential operations should report to campus. This includes essential employees who have been directed to report.
  • All other employees should not report to work on Monday.

Please continue to monitor your hawaii.edu email and UH RAVE alerts for additional information and updates.

The College is currently expected to reopen Tuesday, August 18, 2026, weather and conditions permitting.

Please stay safe and take the necessary precautions to protect yourself and your ʻohana.
