Commencement Attire

GOLD HONORS CORDS:

Honors candidates will be determined by the Records Office. The designation of Honors at Hawaiʻi CC is determined at the time of graduation and is based upon the cumulative GPA for credit earned while at this college. Students must have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 and at least 30 credits at Hawaiʻi CC, of which at least 27 credits were taken for letter grade. Candidates will be mailed a letter indicating that their Honors Cord can be purchased at the Bookstore for $13.00. Honors Cords are to be worn during commencement.

COMMENCEMENT ATTIRE:

Caps and Gowns are available for purchase at the UH Hilo Bookstore. Associate’s and Bachelor’s commencement attire is also available online at www.bookstore.hawaii.edu/hilo. Be sure to purchase the correct tassel for Hawaiʻi Community College (burgundy). Please call the UH Hilo Bookstore at (808) 932-7394 for more information. Bookstore hours are 8:00 am - 3:30 pm, Mon. – Fri. Prices for undergraduate regalia are as follows:

Cap, Gown and Tassel       $41.00
Tassel Only       $7.00       Cap Only $13.75

Persons over 250lbs. or taller than 6’6”, should place a Special Cap & Gown order before March 31st, 2017.

CLASS RINGS and DIPLOMA FRAMES:

Herff Jones Ring Company offers customized class rings. Ring brochures are available at the bookstore for those who are interested. Questions regarding class rings can be forwarded to Mary Chiang at (808) 395-1322, or emailed to mbasales@hawaii.rr.com.

COMMENCEMENT ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Personalized commencement announcements are available at the UH Hilo Bookstore for $1.60 each. Please note that announcements are not required for entrance into the commencement site.

PHI THETA KAPPA:

Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society members may also purchase Phi Theta Kappa graduation regalia. Graduation regalia includes the gold tassel, double honors cord, honors stole and key medallion. You may order regalia directly from Phi Theta Kappa at www.ptk.org or from the Hawaiʻi CC chapter.
