About The Center

The Hawaii CC Children's Center, located on the Manono campus, provides a setting for early childhood students to gain practical experience with young children. The Center provides early education and care for children 18 months to 5 years of age and serves children of students, faculty, and staff from Hawaii CC and UHH. Community children are accepted on a space available basis. The Center offers a high quality developmental approach to early education with qualified staff. Early childhood students work and study in the Center, under the guidance and supervision of early childhood faculty and staff. The Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

Application for childcare are available to parents currently registered or have received acceptance into Hawai’i Community College or University of Hawai’i at Hilo. Children of faculty and staff from both campuses are also welcomed. Priority for enrollment will be given to:

  1. Returning families.
  2. Parents who are full-time students
  3. Parents who are part-time students
  4. Faculty and staff

Most parents receive tuition assistance or scholarships from Open Doors, Childcare Connection, Kamehameha Puahi Scholars, Financial Aid and various other sources.


  1. Pick-up, complete, and return and application to the center.
  2. After application has been processed you will be notified and a $30.00 application fee is due to secure your child’s space.
  3. Form 14 (physical) and TB must be completed before school starts
  4. Service to children with special needs will be evaluated in a case-by-case basis.
  5. Additional forms will be filled out before school starts.


  • Toddlers: $2,200.00 per semester or
  • 4 payments of $550.00
  • Preschool $2,120.00 per semester or 4 payments of $530.00
  • Breakfast, Lunch and snacks are included.
