2013 Annual Face-Off - The "Hand Tool Face-Off" provides an opportunity to recognize skills learned by Construction Academy Students and allows Academy students to visit Hawaiʻi Community College and become acquainted with its programs. It is an annual event typically held in May.
Hawaiʻi Community College Pālamanui Project - In early 2011 a blessing was held at the future site of Hawaiʻi Community College Pālamanui. This event marked the start of construction for a road to connect the new campus with Kaiminani Drive. As part of the ceremony the building of an ahu by community members and leaders occurred.
Skills USA - The Construction Academy in collaboration with the high schools supports SkillsUSA participation of Construction Academy students at Waiakea High School and Keaau High School.
Construction Career Days - The Hawaiʻi Community College Construction Academy is a supporter of construction career days held in Hilo every two years. At the October 2012 Career Day event held at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium in Hilo nearly 900 students from 20 big Island schools got a chance at hands-on experience with construction equipment and tools. This was an increase from the 600 who participated in the 2010 event.
