COURSE OBJECTIVES:
1) BECOME FAMILIAR WITH LABORATORY PROCEDURES AND USE OF THE MICROSCOPE
2) GAIN A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF GENETICS, DNA MOLECULES AND CELL DIVISION
3) UNDERSTAND THE MAJOR PHYLAGROUPS IN THE ANIMAL KINGDOM AND IDENTIFY
REPRESENTATIVE EXAMPLES OF EACH
4) EXPLORE ZOOLOGY BIOLOGY THROUGH FIELD EXCURSIONS IN OUR AREA
 

STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES:

Students should be able to:

1. Familiarize yourself with the use of microscopes
2. Use scientific methodology to gather information and answer objective questions
3. Learn how to write accurate, concise scientific type laboratory reports
4. Identify and learn the names of common micro-organisms and animals in the environment
5. Explore ecosystems though field excursions
