COURSE OBJECTIVES:


STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES:

Students should be able to:

1. Understand scientific method and apply it to their daily lives
2. Use the scientific system of classification to understand animal diversity on this planet
3. Understand how living organisms interact with each other and their environment and how species have evolved.
4. Understand basic chemistry as it relates to biological molecules of life and exchanges within animals and ecosystems
5. Analyze animal ecology: where do they live and why, what are their roles in the ecosystem
6. Learn the eleven major phyla of animals and representative specimens
7. Communicate more efficiently after creating class presentations and group assignments
