Parking on Campus

Hawaiʻi CC's Manono-Hilo, Pālamanui-Kona, and KōEC-Honokaʻa campus parking lots do not require parking permits. The UH Hilo Upper Campus parking lots do not require parking permits except in Housing parking zones. Parking is open in all identified parking lots except in designated, labeled, or reserved stalls. All vehicles must park in appropriately marked spaces.

Rules for standard vehicle operation are enforced 24 hours a day, year-round. Parking enforcement is in place for rule violations, which include, but are not limited to: parking in prohibited or unauthorized areas (areas not marked for parking, outside of marked stalls, medial strips, sidewalks, driveways, fire lanes, ADA stalls, loading docks, etc.). You may be issued a Vehicle Parking Notice by Campus Security for rule violations. In addition, you may be subject to disciplinary action by the appropriate departmental authority, as well as being personally responsible for the towing fees and all associated costs to remove the vehicle from campus property.

Manono, Pālamanui and KōEC parking lots - closed from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
Overnight parking is restricted to state vehicles only, or with the proper authorization from the respective Campus Security office. Vehicle owners assume all risk.

UH Hilo Upper Campus parking lots - closed from 12:00 a.m. (Midnight) to 6:00 a.m.
Housing Parking Lots are the exception to the Upper campus closure. These lots require a Housing Parking Pass or an Overnight Guest Pass. Individuals needing after-hours parking must contact the UH Hilo parking office or Campus Security for overnight authorization.
